Martial Arts Coach

The demand for qualified martial arts coaches in the delivery of professionally structured martial arts training programs is now stronger than ever before. Career path opportunities now exist in an industry that was once considered to be a hobby activity. If you are currently a martial arts coach or are interested in becoming a martial arts coach then getting your nationally recognised qualification is an important step to on-going career success. This training package provides training necessary for attaining the knowledge required to be a nationally recognised martial arts coach. This training program will provide you with the business tools, training methods and techniques ranging from basic to high performance that will guide you in acheiving a top rated martial arts business and career. Learn the skills necessary for implementing group and individualised martial arts training programs that are safe, effective and meet the requirements that have been set by government, community and industry associations.

Recognition and national standards

YMCA*s, PCYC*s, School halls, Public halls and government facilities require that martial arts instructors are now formally qualified. These qualifications are regarded as the highest of their kind and are not only accepted for accreditation purposes they are now recognised as the new national standard. Satisfy government and insurance issues as well as your legal and ethical responsibilities to the community at large.

All martial arts industry qualifications offered by our college are recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. The qualification is accepted as the national standard by all industry stakholders including, peak industry bodies, health clubs, sport and recreation facilities, public facility hirers, government and insurers.

SRS20306 Certificate II in Sport (Coaching)

Specialisation: Martial Arts

Time frame: approx 8 months

SRS30306 Certificate III in Sport (Coaching)

Specialisation: Martial Arts

Time frame: approx 12 months

SRS40206 Certificate IV in Sport (Coaching)

Specialisation: Martial Arts 

Time frame: approx 12 months

SRS50206 Diploma in Sport Coaching

Specialisation: Martial Arts

Training

All training for these qualifications consist of theoretical study, and practical training with an approved Kenshusei partnered school.

RPL: If you are a current senior instructor or if you believe you already have the practical skills necessary you may consider having your experience recognised by applying for Recognition of Prior Learning. click here to find out more about RPL!

Senior Instructor Bridging Program! If you would like to become a Kenshusei affiliate and become active in offering nationally recognised training to your students then I recommend completing the Kenshusei Bridging Program. We will helpyou finish your course sooner via RPL and some workbook study.  You will have the necessary course knowledge and will soon be enjoying the benefits and the presige of offering nationally recognised qualifications through your martial art system.

Additional, exciting theoretical lectures and training workshops are available in most States to make your's and / or your students training experience motivating refreshing and enjoyable!

Government funding

The Skills Victoria Program provides funding to support the Victorian Training Guaranteewhich has been expanded to include eligible individuals who are: -

• enrolled in a Diploma and above level qualifications
• aged 15 - 19 years on 1 January 2010
• aged 20 - 24 years on 1 January 2010 who are upskilling
• aged older than 24 years on January 1 2010 who are retrenched workers; or
• referred through the Skills for Growth Program
