World Kumite Organisation sets a new International Benchmark

The World Kumite Organization re-established itself in September of 2007 in the Thai Village of Pattaya, to create one one the worlds most significant competition circuits. A group of traditional martial arts masters from various discipline supported the reformation and it was agreed that these masters come together in January 2008 to formalise what is hope to become the worlds first true open /all style knock down competitions. It is expected that this exclusive "invitation only" event will rekindle not only the excitement and adreneline of high level martial arts competition, but more importantly promote the spiritual and harmony and beauty of traditional martial arts. These qualities are sadly missing from much today's competition scene.

The Pattaya Beach Cosy Beach Resort set the scene on January 8, 9 and 10 2008 when martial arts masters from various Karate factions, Taekwondo, Kempo and Thai Boxing met to strategise about this history making world event. The World Kumite event is the brainchild of well respected expatriate, martial arts master and entrprenuer millionairre Sifu Robert McInnes. Influence by the Thai Military and the Education Department and Ministry of Sport has ensured that the credibility of the event is truly second to none. Local media fought to interview Sifu McInnes to find out more about this event and how it came to be that so many martial arts masters came to be in one place at the same time.

Various Martial Arts masters from around the world, Thai Military, Ministry of Sport and Department of Education Thailand attracted a large media contingent at this history making gathering.

The World Kumite Organization is now established as a purely non political organization formed to create and help revive the esteem and beauty of traditional Martial Arts. It will hold regular competition with invitations going out to truly traditional martial art systems to present their best fighters to win the prestigious title of World Kumite Grand Champion.

THE 2008 WORLD KUMITE CHAMPIONSHIPS; The first of these events will be held the 28th, 29th and 30th of August at the tropical resort of the Ambassador City Hotel in Pattaya Thailand. This resort is an Olympic games style venue in which it will not only house athletes in first class accomodation and provide an impressive main tournament area but provide a spectacular backdrop on one of Thailands most beautiful beaches. The World Kumite Event will truly be a world class project.
